Find the websites AI reads about you

AI engines do not recommend businesses from memory. They read websites first: directories, review sites, forums and your own pages. Sources shows exactly which sites and pages they read to answer your questions. Getting listed, accurate and well reviewed on those sites is the most direct way to be recommended more often.

Open Sources

Click Sources (1) in the campaign menu; the number next to it is how many different websites the engines read. At the top, Your website (2) shows how the engines use your own site.

Check how the engines use your website

  • Cited in (1): how many AI answers quoted your website, out of all the answers in the scan.
  • Cites you (2): the engines that quoted your site at least once. When an engine never does, it is listed under Never, and that engine is where new pages help most.
  • Your pages (3): every page of your site the engines quoted, with the engines that used it.
  • N answers (4): click it to see which questions quoted that page.

The pages that are quoted most show what already works. Here the water heater page is quoted in 27 answers, so a page written the same way for drain cleaning is a good next step.

No website on the campaign? Add it in the campaign’s Settings and this card fills in from the next scan.

See the sites the engines read most

Four tiles sum up the scan: how many different sites and exact pages were cited, how many answers quoted your website, and the Most cited site (1). That last one is the single best place to be listed and well reviewed.

Top sites the AI engines read ranks the eight sites cited most. Your own site is the blue bar (2), so you can see at a glance how it compares with the directories.

Go through every site

The table below lists every site the engines cited. Domains / URLs (1) switches between whole websites and exact pages (step 6). For each site you see:

  • Answers citing it: how many AI answers used it. Click the number to see which questions (2).
  • Prompts (3): how many of your questions it was cited for.
  • Engines (4): which AI engines read it.

See which questions cited a site

Click the number of answers on any row. A window lists every question where that site was cited, the engines that cited it, and whether that answer named you.

Here expertise.com was cited in 22 answers and none of them named you: it is a list of Austin plumbers you are not on yet. That is a clear next step.

To see the sites the engines read about one competitor, and which of them never come up next to you (marked Gap), see Compare yourself with your AI competitors.

6

Look at the exact pages

Switch to URLs (1) to see the exact pages the engines quoted instead of whole websites. Other sites’ pages (2), often “best plumbers in your city” lists, show what kind of content wins: ask to be added to those lists, or write a page in the same format. Your own pages (3) are marked Your site.
