Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information GBP SEO Tools ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use gbpseotools.com (the "Site"), and how we use it.
1. Information We Collect
Business search data. When you search for a business to audit, the business name and location you enter are sent to the Google Places API to retrieve public listing data (name, address, phone number, category, rating, review count, etc.). We do not require you to create an account or provide your own personal information to run a basic audit.
Payment information. If you purchase a paid report, payment is processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy. We do not receive or store your card details. We may receive limited order information (such as your email address and order ID) from Lemon Squeezy to confirm your purchase.
Locally stored data. The Site uses your browser's local storage to remember which businesses you've unlocked and to cache generated reports, so you don't pay twice or lose a report by closing the page. This data stays in your browser and is not stored in a database on our end.
Technical data. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps for security and reliability purposes. We also keep a short internal access log of the IP address and time of page requests to the Site, retained on a rolling seven-day basis and visible only to our operators, to monitor for abuse and security incidents. We also record, for our own internal business records, the business name and IP address associated with each free audit search, and the email address, business audited, and amount paid for each purchased report.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To generate the SEO audit report you request
- To process payments and deliver purchased reports
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site
- To respond to support requests sent to our contact email
We do not sell your information to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
The Site relies on the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:
- Google (Places API): used to look up business listing data and generate your audit report
- DataForSEO: used to look up publicly available details from your Google Business Profile listing not exposed by the Places API, for the paid audit
- Anthropic (Claude): used to generate the AI executive summary in the paid audit, processing your audit findings and review text to do so
- Lemon Squeezy: used to process payments and handle tax compliance
- Upstash: used to store your order, report, and email address for up to 90 days
- Vercel: used to host the Site
- Google Workspace (Gmail): used to send transactional emails, like your report-ready link, to the email address you provide
- Google Analytics: used to understand site traffic and usage, only after you consent via the cookie banner
- Meta Pixel: used to measure and improve our advertising, only after you consent via the cookie banner
We encourage you to review each provider's own privacy policy.
4. Data Retention
We do not operate accounts, passwords, or logins for visitors to the Site. We do keep an internal record of free searches (business name and IP address) and purchases (email address, business audited, amount paid) for our own business operations, such as tracking sales and usage. These internal records are retained for 90 days and are not sold or shared with third parties beyond what is already disclosed in this policy. Business data submitted for an audit is otherwise processed to generate your report and is not separately retained beyond what is needed to generate that report. Our internal access log of visitor IP addresses and request times is retained on a rolling seven-day basis and then automatically removed.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
The Site uses browser local storage (not a tracking cookie) to remember unlocked reports on your device, and a separate local storage entry to remember your cookie preference itself. Our payment processor and hosting provider may set their own cookies as part of their standard operation.
When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics and Meta Pixel to understand traffic and measure advertising. These do not load or set any cookies until you click "Allow." If you click "Decline," neither script loads and no analytics or advertising cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, which will show the banner again.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Since we don't maintain user accounts or a persistent database of your personal data, most of your data lives in your own browser and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings. For anything else, contact us at support@gbpseotools.com.
7. Geo Spoofing Browser Extension
We also offer a free Chrome extension, "Geo Spoofing by GBP SEO Tools," available on the Chrome Web Store, that lets you simulate a location when browsing Google Maps and Google Search. This section explains what that extension does with your data.
- Location you choose to simulate. The city, address, or coordinates you enter, any saved locations, and your extension preferences (such as numbering toggles, watched domains, and search-region settings) are stored using Chrome's built-in local storage on your own device. We do not receive, transmit, or store this data ourselves.
- Geocoding lookups. When you type a city, ZIP, or address to simulate, that text is sent to OpenStreetMap's free Nominatim service to convert it into map coordinates. We do not operate this service and are not sent any information from that lookup.
- Browsing on Google domains. The extension reads and modifies the display of pages on google.com (Search and Maps) to show your simulated location and add features like result numbering. It does not read or transmit your Google account information, search history, or browsing activity outside of google.com/search and google.com/maps pages, and does not send this page content to us or any third party.
- Right-click "Watched Domains." If you use the right-click menu to add a website to your Watched Domains list, only the domain name you selected is stored locally on your device.
- Communication with Glocavo. If you use Glocavo (our separate Google Maps rank tracker product), its "Verify in Geo Auditor" button can send the extension a location, keyword, and search language to open directly in a new incognito window. No data flows from the extension back to Glocavo through this connection.
- No accounts, no analytics. The extension does not require you to sign in, and does not include any analytics, tracking, or advertising code.
Uninstalling the extension removes all of its locally stored data from your device.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for business owners and marketers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above.
